Okay, confession time: I did forget about the Weekly Wow this weekend… but not because I wasn’t reading and interacting with the world! I found some awesome writing out there this week, but I forgot I needed to share it with you all!
This is the thing about setting goals: if you don’t write them down (and remind yourself), you could be liable to forget about them… especially if they’re once a week! Luckily, there is too much good writing out there (on personal finance, life – everything!) so this week you’re in for a short but delightful reading treat!
A quick recap on why I’m doing these Weekly Wows: Late last year, I set a goal for myself to read and engage with more bloggers – of all types! I focus a lot on personal finance and budgeting, but I wanted to branch out and read some inspiring posts from travel and lifestyle bloggers, too. I stuck to it that goal pretty well, probably because I was mentally ready to stick to it.
One thing I quickly realized was: there is a lot of good stuff out there! Unfortunately, there’s so much stuff out there, that you or I may never even see it because it’s buried by so much information. I know several bloggers do a weekly or even twice a month round up of great posts out there, so I thought – how about I introduce my readers to some of the great writing out there?

The weekly wow will vary a little in format – this week, I found 3 amazing posts out there, but some weeks it might be 2 or 6! I’ll try to keep it short – articles you can read in an hour or less 🙂
On to the best this week!
Making Your Money Matter probably has one of the prettiest personal finance blogs out there, which is just one of the many reasons you should check out this blog. Another great reason? The recent post, How a Vision Board Will Help You Conquer Your 2018 Money Goals (Plus: Free Templates!) This post has two things I love: inspiration for conquering money goals and free stuff! Check it out here.
It’s almost Valentine’s Day (well, okay, a month away but still!) which could be a really expensive holiday. I definitely know in the past, my husband and I have spent a ton of money we really shouldn’t have on Valentine’s Day. This year, we’re in hardcore savings mode – so how can you celebrate Valentine’s Day and not spend any money? The Frugal Sisters share their 10 Ways to Enjoy a No Spend Valentine’s Day – my favorite suggestion is game night!

One of my favorite bloggers is Gary from Super Savings Tips, and with his recent post, he doesn’t disappoint. Titled Damn Those Skeptics, Owning a Home Does Build Wealth, Gary makes some super important points – particularly how renting can be more expensive than buying a home and making mortgage payments. Gary has some other great points, which you can check out here, but you already know I’m a proponent of buying a house to build wealth – if you are comfortable with it.
