Happy Saturday! I hope everyone is nice and dry this Saturday – did you see the news about Phoenix on Monday, September 8? It flooded here like crazy! This photo below, from the Denver Post, shows one of our freeways, yes I said freeway, almost completely flooded. Look at these submerged cars!
The meteorologists said this was an ‘100 Year Flood’, but we’re expected to get another deluge around Wednesday, so we will see how bad the next storm is!

Speaking of Wednesdays, by Wednesday, all the storm action we had on Monday was absolutely gone. While it wasn’t 100 degrees, it was back to being a hot 93 degrees, plus it was humid… ick. I don’t know how people in the South survive humidity! Woo, I definitely learned I cannot live in a more humid climate than here. Or at least not a hot and humid climate.
Totals so far for Weather Wednesday this month: 103 degrees and 93 degrees, for a total of $196 in savings this month. Again, so far so good! Also – we weren’t affected a whole lot by the storm. B’s school didn’t close, and he made it fine, and my work said that I was ‘essential personnel’ (I’m definitely not), so I had to go in too. I made it fine, but lots of people did not just because they couldn’t get out of their homes! Crazy!

Are you traveling to Portland soon, and don’t want to rent a car? Must read post on traveling around Portland without a car. While I wrote my post based on my experiences traveling with my Dad, who has limited mobility, this post is awesome for anyone who is traveling with a group of people, particularly kids!
