What exactly is a beauty product? Dove conducted a survey revealing that seven in 10 women agreed that a “beauty product” is any product that makes her feel more confident. Skincare then, by definition, would certainly fall under the category of beauty products.
You’re not alone if you want your skin to look good, but it can get expensive. The average American woman uses 16 skin care and cosmetic products every day and spends upwards of $300,000 on skincare in her lifetime. Here are some ways to have beautiful skin even if you’re on a budget.
Change your diet
This may sound weird, but your diet actually affects the appearance of your skin. Eating fruits and veggies that are rich in antioxidants is better for your skin glow than any product you may put on it. For example, blueberries, strawberries, kale, spinach, and other colorful foods will get you the vitamins you need to fight wrinkles and other skin problems. Drinking water will also tremendously benefit your skin.
Use 2-in-1 products
You will save tons of money when you only buy one product instead of two. Use a face cream or a foundation that has sunscreen in it so you don’t have to buy both. The Frugal Model recommends using at least SPF 15 that can be found in a many moisturizers or concealers. Protecting your skin from the sun is a crucial skincare practice that can prevent many skin problems like sunspots or wrinkles.
Try natural skincare remedies
There are dozens of household and natural alternatives for over the counter skincare products. For example, you can use coconut oil for cooking and to moisturize your skin or even as a makeup remover. You can also use many body scrubs made with sugar and essential oils for effective exfoliates. My skincare regimen is quite simple and I don’t use any fancy products!
If you want beautiful skin but you’re on a budget, that’s no problem. Change your diet, use 2-in-1 products, and try natural and household skincare remedies. These things can help put the youth back in your skin and the money back in your wallet.
